So, I’m a new dad.  No, mom, I didn’t get anyone pregnant…I got a dog.  His name is Bear.

Now, I’m not the kind of guy that will probably ever get clothes, or the like, for my dog.  It’s just not my style.  That doesn’t mean I don’t want him to be a fancy pup, though.  I have spent countless hours, and dollars, trying to find things that Bear likes.  Whether it is a toy, snack, food, etc, I’ve done tons of searching.  I have a big kennel where he sleeps at night and chills during the day when I’m at work.  I bought a big, soft, kind of furry bed for the kennel so he’d be comfortable.  Apparently, he didn’t like it because he peed on it twice…in one night.  So, I threw it out and put a blanket in there.  He seems to be ok with that.  My theory is this: he likes it because it was mine and he can smell me on it.  Is that gross?  I have been hunting for something to replace the blanket.  I also want to get him a bed for my living room so he’s not always laying on the couch.

The hunt brought me to Molly Mutt.  A big issue I have with dog beds from pet shops is that they’re ugly.  Simple as that.  Molly Mutt makes beds that make sense.  They call them dog duvets.  There are two ways to use them.  You can either recover your existing dog bed or take one of their stuff sacks and fill it with your old stuff: tee shirts, blankets, pillows, sweaters, etc.  That way, when you need to wash it, you throw everything in the washing machine.  It’s genius!  And they’re not ugly!  In fact, they’ve got some great designs for the dog owner with discerning taste.  

There are three different sizes, depending on the size of your dog.  They sell the stuff sacks and duvets separately, but you can also get a kit that has two duvets and one stuff sack.  A friend already got hers and it’s great.  Her four-legged friend loves it!  I’ve ordered two duvets and two stuff sacks so I can have one in Bear’s kennel (the dimensions of the duvet are an exact fit) and one in the living room.  I can’t wait to get them and I know Bear is going to love them.  

If you love your dog, you should probably get a Molly Mutt dog duvet.  Besides, if you’re a guy, you’re girl will think it’s a lot cooler that you have one of these than one from some boring pet shop.  If you’re a girl, you know you want something that goes better with the rest of your home decor.
