“Not just a shirt…a life changed.”

As a rule, I’m always on the lookout for new, interesting, helpful goods.  If you look hard enough, chances are, you can find these things. A friend recently asked me if I had heard of 25 Cloth. The 25 is read as two-five. Knowing my interest in style, it was a sure thing, she thought, that I would dig 25. She was right.

25 Cloth is a company aimed at changing lives around the world.  They formed on February 5, 2008 (2/5/08).  Their first initiative was simple: give water to the thirsty.  Clean water is a luxury that we often overlook, but those less fortunate, like the people in Rwanda, don’t have that luxury.  80% of their water is contaminated.  It was the mission of 25 to get clean water to the people who desperately needed it.  The purchases made during their first initiative helped give clean water to 750 Rwandans.

The second initiative by 25 in 2008 was to help children born with club-foot.  The money from purchases was used to give children casts so their feet could heal properly.  The simple act of buying a shirt could help a child lead a life where they would be able to do something we may not even consider a luxury…walk.  Other initiatives have been aiding people who suffered damage from Hurricane Ike or providing food and income for families in India.  To be able to make a difference in the world with a simple purchase is amazing.  Find more details of how they help are on their site.

Their new site and new initiative will be launch on May 5.  The new initiative is called “Bear Hug” and you can already find details about it on their site.  Be sure to check back regularly.

I encourage you to search around their site.  They have clothes for guys, girls and little kiddos.  There comes a great satisfaction when you know you’ve changed a life.  And how easy is it when all you have to do is buy a shirt?

Do something good today…for yourself and for someone who desperately needs it.  Buy a shirt!
